In April 2021, the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) and Flight Outfitters company announced a “Pilot Your Own Adventure” essay contest for aviators to describe their favorite air adventure. Out of the 267 stories submitted, five winners were chosen. Tucker Axum’s story about flying his friend over Kenya came in 4th place. This story was not only about aviation and adventure, but also about the special bond of friendship.
