In April 2021, the Experimental Aircraft Association and Flight Outfitters company launched the “Pilot Your Own Adventure” essay contest, inviting aviators to share their most unforgettable flying experiences. Out of 267 submissions, Tucker Axum’s story about flying a friend over the vast landscapes of Kenya was selected as one of winning entries. More than a story about aviation and adventure, it became a tribute to the enduring bond of friendship forged through flight.
